It's finally here {the weekend}

Happy Saturday! Hallelujah it's the weekend! I just love the weekends and I pretty much spend the whole week looking forward to the weekend. I just wish that it didn't go by so fast. It's over in the blink of an eye and I truly hate that!

We don't have much planned for this weekend. Ryan had a show last night and has another tonight. I stayed home last night and just cleaned and relaxed. I'm going to go tonight though. So that should be fun!

Tomorrow we have a birthday breakfast for Ryan's step dad...I just love breakfast food! Yum!

After that, we're off to Walmart for some groceries! I think I NEED to keep fruits in the house! If there isn't anything good for me to eat, then I just reach for the junk!

I actually started to work out today...hopefully I can stick with it! I just want to tone up my body for the wedding.

I like instant gratification and without it, I get discouraged. I just have to learn to stick with it!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Favorite Room

I am participating a 'favorite room' in your house post over on Kelly's Korner blog. You can check her's out HERE.

I would have to say that my most favorite room in our apartment is our livingroom. And may I remind you it is an apartment. That means we cannot paint or really decorate as much as I'd like. I think the thing that really gets me is the WHITE walls! They drive me absolutely crazy sometimes!

Like those times right now...when I take pictures of our place, the white walls look so ghastly to me, I just can't stand it!

I also want to state that we are kind of new to moving in. It's been about a little over a year and I'm still in the process of 'decorating'. I am trying to find my niche when it comes to decorating as well.

I want to hit up some flea markets and try and find some neat stuff to fill our house and make it a home!

Alright, enough of that...here we go...

This is the view of our living room, looking in from the patio. Wow it looks so much smaller in the pictures!

This is my red lamp that I found at Target on clearance! I love it and it made me decide to use red as an accent color in the living room. Like the treadmill that is so {un}hidden in the living room?!

Unbeknownst to us, we got a fireplace when we moved in! It kind of created a hard time when it came to setting up the livingroom, but we're dealing and we like it! I love the shelf (my brother and sil got it for us) we have up above the fireplace for pictures. I want to get something else to put on the wall there.

This is the little bookshelf nook that I recently added to the living room. When we had a smaller tv, it was tucked away in the corner over there. I have so many magazines and we have a bunch of books, so I thought I would put them out here. I got some dark wicker baskets to put on the bottom shelf and I put my magazines in there!

This is our semi-new tv. I believe we got it a couple of months ago (can't remember anymore! ha!). It's pretty cool! And those are my Marilyn pictures above. I don't know why, but I just love her, there is something vintage about her that I like.

More pictures to come on this, but this is my current project. I found the bend there from a flea market and I'm in the process of painting/decorating/sorting out that area.
So there, you have it. That's my favorite room. I realize it's not totally decorating or anything, but I'm working my way there. I love it though because it's where we hang out all of the time. It's comfort to me. It's home.

Registered!

We were both off of work today...kind of an extended holiday weekend! It was OH SO nice (aside from my tooth still bothering me), but that's another story.

We went to TARGET to set up our bridal registry. It was so much fun! It was kind of hard though...that's weird, right?! We just scanned stuff we wanted/needed. Why get something we don't want or need.

I won't post the link yet (here or on the wedding website) because we aren't quite finished. We didn't even really put a dent in it. I think we did a once around the store and didn't feel like going back. Well, we have plenty of time for that and we can add stuff on from the internet, so that's a bonus...especially when I get bored at work! ha!

Here we are...on our way out...

This is the little welcome kit that TARGET gave us once we set up our registry. There are actually some useful and cute things in there. They gave us a little square tear-off stack of little notes that say THE HAPPY COUPLE IS REGISTERED AT TARGET to put in invitations and whatnot. There is a checklist of essential things to put on your registry and an invitation that TARGET makes...it says they are at a lovely price...so I'm going to have to check that out! AND the best part?!?!...we get a FREE six inch mini wedding cake as a 'sample'! How 'bout that?!

He was a maniac with that gun! ha!

I just liked to aim and shoot!

No...we didn't really put that on our registry...or did we?!

I'm a natural...right?!

That gun was smokin'!

And as an added bonus while parousing around TARGET...we got this cool chair for the office (i.e. the video game/computer/guest room). I have always wanted one and I don't even play video games that often. I just thought it would be comfortable to read on and I like to sit on the floor...so this is kind of like that but more comfortable...and it rocks!
I just love those end aisles in the back where the discount home stuff is. We got 4 new bath towels and 2 hand towels for a total of $15! Isn't that just great?!
That was the extent of our day...now we are just relaxing and I have to go back to work tomorrow...oh I have when long weekends have to end! My mister gets to stay home for the rest of the week...isn't he lucky?!

The day of food!

Sunday was a day of going out to eat with friends and family. I started the day out by going out to breakfast with my future mil and future sils and one cute little boy (Colin!). We went to Elly's for breakfast...it was yum-o!

Then we went out to dinner to the Country Squire with a good friend of mine! She just got engaged on Friday night and we went out to celebrate and check out the place...she's planning on having her wedding reception there.

We were SO lucky...we had a window seat and got to see a wedding taking place! It just made me want ours to be here so much more!

Jenny and Mike (the newly engaged couple!)
Ryan and me
The place was old fashioned and so cute on the inside. Apparently it is a mansion!
We went back home and my tooth/whole mouth has been bothering me this whole entire weekend! It got so bad I just couldn't do anything about it. NO amount of meds would make the pain go away! I got a prescription from the dentist for vicodin and a strong ibuprofin and they both make me feel nauscious and sick! Ugh! When will this go away?!
p.s. I started painting the bench (see post below) black. It started to rain and was getting a bit windy so I didn't finish. I want to do two coats on it too! I will post some pics when I am done!

Breakfast and Flea Market

Well, today was a good day! My tooth is still sore from having more work done on it and it's driving me crazy!!!

We went out to breakfast this morning at Grandma V's and then just relaxed all day, along with putting together our wedding website.

I went over to Jessica's to see her new house...I love it!

Then we went to the fairgrounds. They were having an overnight antique flea market. My brother and sister-in-law have found some neat stuff there and I was hoping to find some fun things to start decorating around here. I was praying that I would find something that I liked. As we were looking around, I felt like I was being picky and was going to end up going home with nothing.

Then I came across this...

And it was only $1! So I thought...why the heck not?! I want to paint it black maybe and then figure out where to hang it and what to put in it and/or around it.

Two minutes later....I found this! I LOVE it!!! We were talking about getting something similar but with storage to put our blankets in. This'll do though! I am going to paint it black to match the other furniture in our living room. I also want to either find or make a cusion to put on top of it. It's pretty much what I was looking for! Yay!!! :-)

This is the 'whole' picture as to where it would be going and why it needs to be painted...can you say 'eyesore' right now?!

Roxy was exploring the bench when I got home. She was sniffing it out and slowly creeping around it.

This was my last and final purchase (I ran out of money...but to my advantage I didn't bring that much). It's so summery looking and cute! I've been keeping my eye out for a shoulder bag that I didn't have to carry! Found it!
I guess it paid off to go to the flea market. I love it there! It would be much better to see if we went to one of the ones that is during the day. I'm going to have to hit that place up some more. We didn't even end up looking at all of the stuff they had there.
Total spent...$31.00! Not too shabby!

I've got nothing...

Sorry guys...I really have nothing here for you! Sorry to disappoint! Ha!

I did go to the dentist this morning. Watched a whole movie while I was there (Red Eye). The dental hygenist seemed to be enjoying it too while she was prodding around in my mouth (doesn't she get paid to be sitting there...keep your eyes on my teeth!).

Hopefully I'll have some pics and other interesting stuff to post this weekend.

I am so glad that it is a long weekend...I really feel like I need it! I have a 4 day weekend...I took Tuesday off too! I think we may go register for our wedding gifts. That'll be fun!

I leave you with this...

According to the SNAPPLE FACTS on my bottle: "Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying."

I definitely needed to know that. I can't stand to cut/peel/whatever onions. My eyes start to burn and water like you wouldn't believe! I remember using goggles a couple of times when I was a kid!

Have a great weekend!!!

I'm grouchy!

I didn't start the day off that way. It has just recently developed!

I just let myself get so frustrated at work. I easily stress myself out!

I had nothing much else to post about...so I thought I'd share that little insight.

Tomorrow is the completion of my root canal...boy oh boy, can't wait for that!

Wisteria Lane

If for some reason you are like me and it took you awhile to watch the season finale of Desperate Housewives...and you still haven't watched it...DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!!! I will end up spoiling it for you!

So...if you DID watch it...what the heck is going on?!

I started watching it and then had to postpone the second half for another day. That other day was this morning.

I thought it was probably one of the best in awhile with all the drama and what not.

Then at the end...I had to rewind it once or twice to rewatch the FIVE YEARS LATER portion of it. I mean, I got it...but I wanted to make sure I wasn't seeing things that weren't really happening!

Did Gabby have those kids? Or did they adopt? Because they look like they are asian (nothing against at all) and Gabby or Carlos are both hispanic. She also lost her sense of fashion apparently! Ha!

And most of all...who the heck is the guy that Susan went home to?!?! Where is Mike and where was the baby? I just don't get it...

Of course, they are going to leave us hanging until the next season!

Maybe it'll get juicier! If not...I'll still be watching! :-)

Watch This

This movie was SO good! I had it on our Netflix queue and just couldn't wait for that. So I ordered via On Demand and spent and extra five bucks! Oh it was great! I cried throughout the entire movie...but it was good crying and happy crying along with a little sad crying. My eyes were so red and bloodshot after watching it!

This was another cute movie! I love any type of girlie movie AND I love Katherine Heigl...so, naturally, I would love this movie!

Snapple Facts

From my Snapple top...

Hawaii is the only U.S. state that grows coffee.

I'm addicted!

I don't know why...I just am! I will sit down with a book of crosswords and just start going at it!

I will finish as much as I possibly can and then move onto the next.

I never really look at the answers in the back of the book; even if it would mean finishing that particular crossword.

I think I just get in a trance!

Yummy Shoes

In my quest to find the perfect wedding day shoes, I came across THIS website. Me likey!

It has millions of pages of shoes for reasonable prices (i.e. $15.77 and $17.99...like the ones below!).

There are also clothes, but I didn't look through those...

It is a 'clubbing' website...but hey, the shoes are so cute!

These are super cute! And how 'bout those wedges?!

May 19, 2008

As stated before

I have mentioned before that I'm a magazine freak...and I do not lie! I don't mind it really, other than the fact that I have two bins of magazines that I'm not sure if I've read them, skimmed them or just haven't even bothered to touch them yet.

The thing that gets me; I have multiple books that I WANT to read but just can't bring myself to read them because I figure, hey I have a whole bunch of good magazines to read...

And I simply can't stop buying them.

It's an addiction, I know.

What's your addiction?

Watch This

During our sleepover last night, we watched a movie. Ava brought Enchanted. If you want to watch a happy cute little movie that is light...watch this!

Happy Birthday!!!

Yesterday was this cute little guy's birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLIN!!!

The birthday boy

Last night, Ava slept over. She was going to be coming with us to Colin's 1st birthday party and I thought it would be easier if she slept over...I have broken sleep all night last night, so I'm beat!

On the way to the party

Ava had a blast today, she was all worn out. She was so cute, I would catch her playing with Colin and crawling along with him. She made some quick friends today and had so much fun!!!

Father and Sons (Kevin, Ryan, Mike my future FIL, Mike)

Ryan, me and Dad

Me, Ava and Terri my future MIL

This is what I got today...some good 'ole fashion sunburn. I didn't even feel it or notice it until later tonight. It was so beautiful out today. The sun was out and the wind blew at just the right times, I never felt warm or burnt...until the way home.

We had a GREAT day today! I am just super tired and am so out of it! Time to relax and watch some tv!

The root of all pain

Well, I went to the dentist this morning...

It did not turn out so good. I had to get a root canal. Well, a partial root canal.

The Dr. did not have enough time to do the entire thing, as I booked my appointment for a cleaning and 'check up' rather than a 'problem tooth'. That was my bad though...

So now I have this big lump of clay in my back molar and my mouth is SO sore!

The Novacaine is wearing off and I can feel the pain rushing through...I can't wait to go home!

Well, not exactly home, I'm going to pick up the niece and we are going shopping for a one-year-old's birthday present and then we are going to have a sleepover...she's going to sleep and I'm going to stay up! :-)

**I remembered my camera! This is good because I am now trying to 'document' my life! Ha! Well, not document...just take some more pictures to remember the times that we have!**

****A special HELLO to my Nonni (grandma in italian)! She is new to the worldwideweb and I hear you're a big fan of my blog!!! Haha!!! Love you!****

First Dance

We are in the process of finding a song for our FIRST DANCE.

We don't want your typical run of the mill first dance song though.

So we are on the hunt and won't stop until we find that PERFECT song that suits us to a T!

The time has come

I think it's about time that I get me some pepper spray, you know, to 'arm' myself when I take the pooch out at night time.

We have talked about it, went to Walmart (in the hunting/sporting goods section), but with no such luck, they didn't have any. It all stemmed from the time when our car got broken into and both cars had their tires slashed.

Update on that, they found out who did it. It was some kids that live on the side street over near us.

Come to find out, our neighbor lets us know the other day that around 2:00am on Monday morning, ANOTHER apartment had their car broken into along with someone trying to get in through a window leading into their kids bedroom!

Wonderful place we live...

No, but seriously, that's the thing...it's not that horrible of a place. To be honest with you, I don't feel UNSAFE at all. I know these things are happening but it's generally a decent place. I don't want you all to think that I live in some getto...I don't!

That being said...I did it! I ordered some pepper spray! And it's SO cute! If you want to see what it really looks like, you can go HERE. I tried to save a pic of the the one I got, but it wouldn't let me...their pictures are copyrighted...oh well. It's pink and a part of it goes to breast cancer...so I'm supporting a good cause while I'm at it!
I tried to find a picture of something similar. I just hate those ones that big and ugly and bulky. At least it'll be smaller and cuter. :-)

Well, as soon as I can get out of here (work...ugh, oh btw, I bought 3 lotto tickets today...wish us luck!) I'm off to have some pizza with a few girlfriends. I forgot my camera though and I meant to grab it! Oh well!

Have a good night!

TGI Fridays...on Monday!

We decided to have a 'night out' on Monday after I got off of work. So we went out to dinner to T.G.I. Fridays for dinner. It made the night feel longer, rather than getting home, eating dinner and then feeling like we had to go to bed soon. We didn't get anything fun and exciting...but took some pics! We had a great little table in the back corner and were really away from everyone, it was actually kind of nice!

Me and my TOO cheesy Broccoli Cheddar soup

We got dessert to go! It was dee-lish! I made the plate presentation by myself at home...doesn't it look like it would from a restaurant?! Mmm...

Without further ado...

...some pics from the weekend

Ava and her straightened hair...she look so cute!
Colin and Ava kissing...too cute!
Look how long her hair is!
