Green is my FAVORITE color (really it is!)

Take this test!
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

Mmm Mmm Goooood!

We got this wonderful Crockpot for a Christmas from my Uncle.
I LOVE IT!
I made a wonderful chicken din din for us last night!
I just want to use it ALL OF THE TIME!
Just thought I'd let ya'll know!

P.S. Any good recipes that you make in the
Crockpot? Please share....
pretty please?!

Striking Writers

What is going on with this writers strike? It is just killing me!
See, I have this routine...I record my shows at night when
they are on. Then, since I don't work until 10:30am, I
wake up at 6:30am (right before my Mister leaves for work),
take the pooch out, make some coffee and watch some
pre-recorded shows before I get ready to go into work.
NOW I HAVE NOTHING TO DO IN THE MORNING!!!
It's so sad! When will it be over?!?! From what I heard on the radio
the other day...which is another post (my FAV morning show),
it's about the writers only making so many cents on dvds that are
put out, etc.
MY VOTE?! Get 'er done (I'm not from the south,
nor do I have anything against southerners,
but I just said that to make a statement! ha!)
and start writing some of my favorite shows!!!
NOW!!!
P.S. Does anyone know why my paragraphs are NOT
separated? Do I need to change something in
my settings? HELLLLLPPPP!!!!!

New Kids are Back on the Block!

I just went to sign in to my yahoo mail and saw one of their headlines listed with the picture and all. And well, New Kids On The Block are apparently making a come back!

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing...you can find the story HERE

I used to be a HUGE FAN!!!

Marilyn Monroe

I HEART HER

If you hadn't noticed my main piccy on here...
I love Marilyn Monroe! Don't ask me why, I could not tell you!
I think the obsession began like a year or two ago. I think she is
so gorgeous. Especially in the photos where she doesn't have
much make up on, and she looks naturally beautiful. The one thing
that bugs me is, that Anna Nicole Smith has been compared to her.
That kind of turns me off of the whole thing. I dislike Anna Nicole, don't
ask me why on that one either!

I got this book for Christmas last year, from wonderful gal. My most

favorite part of this book are all the photos in there. They have some

of the most beautiful pics of her, just breathtaking!

The Maestro

My Mister and I, frequent Dunkin Donuts for their deliscous coffee occassionally (used to be much more...we're talking like every day during the summer). During our visits, we usually had the pleasure of being serviced by a mid-to-late-20-something-man,
to which we have no clue what his name it.
We dubbed him THE MAESTRO
He was given this name for a major reason...he makes THE BEST coffee, no matter what you order, it is how it should taste. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, considering it is a chain, you can go to different locations and certain drinks will taste differently depending on where you order (I can't blame them, I couldn't replicate something someone else made to a T, could you?!). THE MAESTRO has a few traits that make him unique, like, he always says WELCOME TO MCDONALD'S CAN I TAKE YOUR ORDER (does he work at McDonalds and just get confused, or is he trying to confuse us?!), he would ask why we didn't get an iced coffe (which we normally ordered in the summer) when we ordered a hot coffee, and then I can't remember but he made a comment or said something nice,
acknowledging us when we went once.
Last night, on the way to my Mister's show, we decided to stop for a hot cup-o-joe, hoping we'd have THE MAESTRO to serve us. My Mister knows that I have a hard time finding something to blog about at times and said, "There's a topic for your blog!"
So here I am...and unfortunately, we didn't have the pleasure of sipping some hot joe made by THE MAESTRO! As a matter of fact, we haven't seen him in awhile...we've cut back on our Dunkin Donut runs. Hmm...maybe we'll have to start drinking more coffee...

The Public Pot

This may be a TABOO topic for some. I'm on the fence with this one. I MUST write about it though because it frequently crosses my mind. If you are one of the weak at heart, please don't read this post. I'll try to keep it G Rated.

The Subject Being...GOING POTTY IN PUBLIC RESTROOMS...and I don't mean *tinkling*!!!!

Now, I understand that, when you gotta go, you GOTTA GO. I am not one of those peeps though. I just cannot bring myself to do that in a restroom where there are other stalls...hence other people in the same bathroom as you.

This subject comes about because of my place of employment. I went to use the washroom today (just *tinkle*) and heard from 2 stalls down...PLUNK....PLUNK!!! I just couldn't believe it! I guess I'm just self conscious! Then the SMELL...I just don't enjoy smelling other people's smells! Ewwwwwww!!! That's all!

We picked a date...

We Picked A Date!!!

Well, we actually picked it last week or so. But I was thinking about how I have nothing to blog about and realized, duh Miss B, that's what your BLOG is for?!?!

An Apple-a-Day

I FINALLY have insurance...well I have had it, but I hadn't received my cards until recently. Well...and then it took me a couple of weeks to actually call and make a dr's appointment...but that's my own fault!

On the subject of NEW insurance, you get to pick a NEW doctor...if you choose. Which in my case, I wanted to...I was on a pretty bad selection of mds on my last insurance. I try to pick the nicest sounding names, only to find that the doctor I picked has a dirty office with some not to nice looking patients. Try as I may, I tell myself not to judge, but I just ended up feeling scummy even walking in there. **The aforementioned doctors offices were also all under Condell Hospital.** (side note, I didn't have anything against Condell, and I would always wonder why EVERYONE would talk down about them. I still don't have anything against them...but maybe I'd like to try out a new hospital set of mds).

I called and made my doctors appointment this morning and was absolutely delighted when I made my appointment. The receptionist didn't give me attitude. She wasn't mad that I was calling to, heaven forbid, make a doctors appointment. She was so delightful and friendly and happy! It was amazing! Now, that is some good customer service....as a matter of fact, some of the best that I've received from a doctors office in so long! Hopefully the doctor is just as nice...I picked a good name this time...I can just feel it!!!

High School Amuse~ical

So, this little cutie was hanging out for the day today (my niece). I got the pleasure of waking up at about 5:20 this morning to go pick her up...rather than a sleepover. Don't get me wrong, but I LOVE mine and my Misters alone time...not to mention quietness.

my little niecey
We went to the grocery store at 6:00am (I think that's a record for me). Then, got back to our apartment around 7:00am. I already knew I was instore for a High School Musical 2 filled day. Don't know if I was really thrilled, yet not sure if I really hated the idea either. She was just the cutest/funniest. This girl watched HSM2 probably every day...and that is AT LEAST once. She knows all the words AND the moves to the dances that go along with the songs. We were just cracking up, it was hysterical!

And I have to say...I LOVE the movie! Yep, that's right, it was so cute. I found myself getting the tunes going through my head as they were on. They are fun, catchy 'lil ditties! And the actors/actresses are so cute! They are the 'unharmed', innocent actors...(oh boy, I wonder what is in store for them, I hope Britney doesn't latch on).

I've seen some of them in the gossip mags already (prior to watching HSM2) and thought they were already getting sucked into Hollywood, but watching it made me have a bit of a different perspective (who knows, maybe I'm naive). So, if you ever have the chance to watch it, you know, if you're hanging out with your niece/nephew OR your child (OR we don't have to tell, but you randomly come across it on tv), take it for what's it's worth. It's Amusing!

Oh and P.S....Once Five O'Clock rolled around...
well, let us just say...I was happy to have
Quiet Time again...
I was BEAT!

Going to the Chapel and we're...

Premarital Counseling?!?!

Yes Folks! You heard it! Pre-Marital Counseling!

Can you BELIEVE IT?!?!

So, me being the planner that I am, decided to email the Pastor and the church that I grew up going to. You know, just to make sure the date was open for OUR WEDDING. I was not particular on whether or not I HAD to get married in a church, but in talking to Mister R about it, we decided to do it that way. I sent an email via the church website to Pastor Mark and waited excitedly to hear back...all day long!

When I finally received the reply to my email, I hurriedly read through it. A portion of said email read as follows:

"I’ll want to meet with you and your fiancĂ© at least twice –

to plan the ceremony and to do some pre-marriage counseling."

Ughgh! Immediately the thought in my head was, Premarital Counseling...Premarital Counseling? Why? What? Huh? Why?! What are they going to ask us? Are we going to get into trouble for not going to Church EVERY Sunday? Is he going to ask if we live together before marriage? Is he going to want to know about our 'personal relations'?

Because let me tell you...I don't really want to go into personal stuff like that with the Pastor! And I believe in God, but I don't believe that you HAVE to go to church EVERY Sunday just to show that you believe!

What are YOUR thoughts on PREMARITAL COUNSELING?

Did you have to do it?

What did they talk about/ask you and your significant other?

How to look good...NAKED!!!

So, while we're (I'm I suppose) on the topic of TV Shows...and reality for that matter. Have you seen How To Look Good Naked? If not, you should check it out HERE. I have seen 2 episodes so far and I think I like it. I LOVE the fact that they are all about getting women to love the way the look currently. I mean, we all have body issues...i think we all do(?)! And there is always that notion that you HAVE TO have the perfect body. But I believe you need to love the skin you're in, in the first place, in order to really LOVE who you are.

My FAV part of the show is Carson Kressley though! He is such a hoot! I LOVE how he just makes the girls so comfortable and how gay he is, really! He cracks me up. One of the first episodes I saw, he was working with this gal who weighed probably like 250 pounds (or something like that, not too sure), but he picked her up and twirled her around. It was so funny, I mean he made her feel good. And then he makes them try on bras and undies and walk around in them. You know, just make them feel comfy! Alright, I think I'm just blabbering now.

JUST CHECK IT OUT!!!

Rock of Love

So, me and my Mister started watching Rock of Love when it first started sometime last year. I just randomly recorded it, thinking oh Mister R will probably like this. I myself, know some Poison songs, but seeing I was born in the early 80s, I wasn't a hard core rocker! Duh! Well, we both ended up getting addicted to it and well, season number 2 started on Sunday. Here we go again!

I can't help but get addicted to it...especially since the Writers Strike is going on...I look forward and get excited to watch the darn show! It is just hysterical too! Brett is just a sex crazed maniac (i mean did you see the season finale last season, he didn't want to make a decision and SERIOUSLY asked the two girls if they would both be his girlfriends!!! One said sure and the other wasn't having any of it!)...I'm sure he's not looking for long lasting love on a reality tv show...come on, we all know that doesn't last! And these girls all just want to be on tv...but it is hysterical...you should check it out!!! The fighting that goes on is the best part!!!

What about your TV Addictions...
(seeing as this Writer's Strike isn't ending
any time soon!). Maybe I'm missing some
good REALITY TV that I don't know about!
OH AND ON BBC AMERICA...THERE ARE RERUNS OF
RAMSAY'S NIGHTMARES
THEY ARE AWESOME! BUT THE BRITISH VERSION
HAS HIM TAKING HIS SHIRT OFF
ALL OF THE TIME!!! TOO FUNNY/WEIRD!

TGIF

Whew! Can I just say I'm so happy that it is Friday?! Don't ask me why, I was off on Monday and it's been a pretty easy week. So wtf?! I don't even know. Can I just say that I live for the weekend?! Not even to go out and P-A-R-T-Y! I love me some good stay at home and relax time and it seems that the weekends are the perfect times to do that. We had some 'spring-ish' weather here for a couple of days and it really throws you off. It was in the lower 60s in January...in Chicago-land for that matter?! I guess anything is possible.
Not too much new going on here. Me and my Mister haven't really set a date or talked much about what we are doing for OUR WEDDING yet. I am, however, buying magazines and books and such...just because I CAN!!! He he he! Ooohhh....but since I am all about this blogging thing and websites and such, you can bet that once some things are final...I will be creating a Wedding Website! More to come on that in the future though!
As you can tell, I'm just rambling here...I am having the hardest time finding topics to write about. I'll think of a good one and write it down for later, then when I come back to it to actually write about it...I think, well, that's not that good. For anyone who is reading this...if there is anyone out there who does...do you have any SUGGESTIONS?!?!
My soon-to-be Father-In-Law (FIL) came into town for two days. You can check out his cool blog HERE. He is sailing and just traveling the seas, currently located near Puerta Vallarta. How neat is that?!?!
Alright, I really should go now! Hope ya'll have a good weekend! Maybe if you're lucky...I'll try and write some more this weekend!

Blah Days & Spa Days

This is what you will see if you look out the window here...I personally, think it's time for the snow to go! I am one of those who likes snow on Christmas Day and that's about it! Why do I live here, you may ask...well, all (or most) of our family is here. How I wouldn't LOVE to be somewhere where the average temperature is 60s to 70s...but that is just not reality! I would miss everyone so much too! It is actually sunny today and supposed to warm up to 23 degrees (I think!). After all the holiday days off at work, it makes me not want to go back! But it is something we all (or most of us) must do...I just get in that blah mood though! OH WELL!

This Sunday, I will be using my gift certificate that I got from my future Mother-In-Law (MIL). I am going to the spa and getting a manicure, pedicure, facial AND massage. I am SO looking forward to that! It will AMAZING!

What do you do to lift your spirits in this cold, freezing weather???

We're Engaged!

And I say we because it really is us...not just me!!! Oh my gosh...can you believe it?! I got flowers sent to work on New Years Eve from MY Mister (I can say that now!). The note on the flowers said, looking forward to the next year together. So I was just thinking, oh my, I have the best boyfriend EVER!
Well, I get home from work and he continues to tell me that he has made reservations at 5...YES FIVE different restaurants and I got to pick which one we went to. I asked him why and he just said, it's New Years Eve and we're not doing anything, so I thought we'd go out to dinner. I just kept thinking, what did I do to deserve this man?!
Well, we left for dinner, but right before I put my BEAUTIFUL flowers on the coffee table next to the lamp. I turned the lamp on so it wouldn't be dark when we got home from din din.
We walk in the door from dinner and the light is off and I see little petals all over the floor in the faint sight that I can actually see. I was thinking the animals knocked over the flowers and the lamp and ruined everything. My Mister turned on the light and there is a song playing in the background (one of which I had uploaded to a photo slide show I had made for him last year), my flowers were moved to the center of the room, there were 2 champagne glasses and champage, chocolates and a box. Mister R got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said YES YES YES! And could not stop smiling the entire night...come to think of it...I can't stop smiling even now!
What a wonderful way to end and start the 2007 into 2008.
I can't even think of the perfect words to describe it. I truly love that man.
