Props to my future hubbs

First off, this post is coming a day late. I meant to post it yesterday, but it got too busy at work and why would I blog at home?! ha! Just kidding...after staring at a computer all day long, it's the last thing I want to do while I'm home, usually...

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I'm a bit of a neat/clean freak. That said, Ryan does his part (as much as I let him, did I mention I'm a clean freak and a little controlling when it comes to that?!).

To my suprise when I arrived home from work on Monday, the house was all picked up, clean and even vaccumed (totally spelled that wrong)! It was awesome! Plus, he had ran out and got us the first season of Hell's Kitchen (we're obsessed). Dinner was almost done (see below...mmm!) and it smelled so good. I didn't have to do anything but change my clothes and sit down!

To top it all off, I was have tummy issues all day long and felt horrible and you know what he did?! He ran out to Walgreens for me, even though I'm sure he just wanted to sit down and relax before going to bed.

Isn't he just the best?!

I think so and I thank my lucky stars each and every day that I have him.

I am so glad that we get to grow old and grey together. It's the best feeling knowing that it'll be with him!

He even remembered to take pics for the blog while he was making us dinner! It just kept getting better and better! :-)

The finished product. Doesn't it look great?! We have made Chicken Parmesan before, but it has never looked this good. Plus we usually always use Ragu and bake it in the oven. Thanks to Jenny for this modified version...I just love it!

Stuck in a dinner rut

We are as you can see...stuck in a dinner rut. It's horrible! We can't seem to come up with anything out of the norm and if we do, it takes too long or one of use doesn't like it.

It's really bad...we have the same thing every week. I don't know what to do!

Any suggestions? We're all about quick and easy meals...considering I don't get off of work until 7:00pm. Please feel free to leave me comments!

One more for the road!

Last night, after I got off of work I took Ryan out for his birthday. It was his choice and he chose Salutos. Mmm...or so we thought...it turned out not being as good as it usually was, but the salad and bread was still good...and so was the calamari! The other stuff...not so much! It was still fun though!

I love my birthday and I try to make Ryan feel special on his birthday! I left him this note for when he got home from work and I wasn't home. He had to wait to open the gifts until later :-)

Here is the BIRTHDAY BOY!!! This is when we were at dinner.

I hate that angle...how unappealing!

After dinner we went to Kohls for some shopping. I got 2 shirts for only $14...woo hoo! Then it was back home for some gifts! He liked everything I got him and I think all in all, it was a good birthday!
Happy Birthday baby! Oh and I like to drag out my birthday, so I say the whole weekend is his birthday weekend! :-)

And more birthdays...

Last night we went out to dinner with Terri (future mil), Ed (Ryan's step dad), Mike, Stacey and little C. We went to J Alexanders for din~din and it was SO good! Of course, we all had burgers and chicken fingers, but still...it was good!

Ryan with our waiter...waiting to blow out the candles on his cake...well it was the same cake, but it was deelish!

TGI Fridays...on Monday!

We decided to have a 'night out' on Monday after I got off of work. So we went out to dinner to T.G.I. Fridays for dinner. It made the night feel longer, rather than getting home, eating dinner and then feeling like we had to go to bed soon. We didn't get anything fun and exciting...but took some pics! We had a great little table in the back corner and were really away from everyone, it was actually kind of nice!

Me and my TOO cheesy Broccoli Cheddar soup

We got dessert to go! It was dee-lish! I made the plate presentation by myself at home...doesn't it look like it would from a restaurant?! Mmm...

Sunday equaled Relaxation

Sunday was a day of total rest and relaxation. I was originally supposed to be doing something regarding getting us a new car (my grandma's), but that fell through. So I had a FULL day of nothing! The Mister left at about 9:30am to go finish up recording. Yes folks, recording for his band. I can't wait for the day when he's a big superstar and I don't have to work anymore! Ha! I took a shower, went over to my friend/coworker/neighbor's apartment...she lives like 2 buildings down. I went over to see her wedding dress which she ordered off the site I was thinking about ordering off of. Note: I found a different dress (go figure) and I'm ordering it TODAY!!! I can't wait!!! It's what I've been searching for! Then I ran to the store and bought two new work out dvds:

We'll see how they work out (ha! pun intended!). Whenever I buy exercise dvds, I do them a couple of times here and there and then get bored! I hope that doesn't happen, I really need to start exercising. I am sore from cleaning on Saturday though!

After that, I came home and laid on the couch watching tv all day long! I watched a lifetime movie and then just random garbage that was on the tele. I don't know why the weekends go by SO fast and the week days just drag on SO slowly! It's just not fair!

I did make us a really good dinner last night. I got one of those 'mini' chickens that is already seasoned and in a bag, you just have to put it in the oven. I made that, stove top stuffing, and some mixed veggies. So that's what is for lunch today too! Such an eventful weekend, I know...but it was well worth it and I just love those days where you really don't have to do a thing!

Happy Valentine's Day!

mmm...don't these look good?!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Nothing all too special goings on here in our neck of the woods. The high today is supposed to be 38 degrees! This is so exciting, considering it's been in the negatives. The sun isn't out like it was yesterday though, so it doesn't look very enticing here. My Mister is making me din~din tonight, but this isn't for any special occasion (I have been blessed with this AWESOME gift ever since I started working later hours...isn't he just THE BEST?! I definitly think so!).

You see...I don't really think that big of Valentines Day. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it whatsoever. And I'm not going to throw a fit if The Mister got me flowers or a gift or anything for that matter...but I'm also not going to throw a fit if he didn't. In my opinion, I'd rather pick a random date out of a hat and have that be our special day for eachother, rather than have the same day that everyone else is joyously in love over (or the opposite, if you don't have anyone, and all depressed. Which I think is silly!).

OOOHHH...and for the men out there who think that V-Day is a woman's holiday, and think they don't have their own. Well, do I have something for you HERE...

***i will put a disclaimer on this one though...if you are easily apalled, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT go to this website. FYI...this is only because the day is called STEAK AND BJ DAY. Some gal called in on the morning show I was listening to this morning and was going on about it...too funny!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
