It comes in three's

Saturday was a fun fun day for me!

I got to have my make up trial for our wedding day. I have to say, I felt kind of weird going out in public with my face all done up! I wear make up usually every day (except for weekends sometimes...), but this was the entire package of make up.

I got it done at O Salon in Mundelein. I have to say - I love that place! It's really cute in there too! The walls are a really dark shade of purple and they have various animal print antique stools and reupholstered chairs! So cute...maybe even a concept for a room in our future house?! I think maybe!

Here I am...

My friend and maid of honor, Jessica went with me for moral support...ha! I like it a lot though. I even bought the lip liner and gloss for touch ups on the day of. I have to say - not used to wearing that all the time, but the color is neutral and very flattering on me if I say so myself! I may even be sporting it outside of the wedding! I just felt so pretty!!!

After that, Jess made us (her bridesmaids...because she is getting married on June 26th! Hence my title of this post...me, my friend Jenny and Jessica are all getting hitched! I'm planning on throwing my bouquet at Katie - another friend almost there - so we can make it four!!! I'm getting off subject here...story of my life...) appointments to try on dresses at David's Bridal.

She was going to pick a color and let us all pick out what dress we wanted to wear. We ended up deciding on two different dresses and the girls could pick which one they wanted to wear.

The first was a strapless dress. I loved it and the material is a cotton - you definitely can't tell from the pictures, but it is SO comfortable!

Then we tried on a strapped version. Of these two, I felt most comfortable in the one below. Which is the one I and two other girls picked! So we get to pick from the above picture and the below picture! Bonus?!...they both have pockets!!! How awesome is that?!

The dresses will be in the color below. Jessica's mom (who is like a mother to me, love her!) took us to TGI Friday's afterwards. What a fun time!!!

My Mister was gone for his show by the time I got home - so I decided to return some things that needed returning and shop for an outfit/top for my bachelorette party that is coming up next weekend! I had much luck while I was out and even found a handful of things for five bucks each on the clearance racks at Target...oh how I love their clearance racks!!! I may have even found my dress for our rehearsal and dinner! Yay! So many tedious shopping things crossed off my list!

Today is a day of relaxing and trying to check some things off the list of to dos.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

The tie the binds

***Edit...so, the picture and title were supposed to have something to do with my post and I realized this morning, thinking about it that I never put anything in here on it! Ha! I mean to ask if you all know of the best place to get ties in bulk (well not necesarily bulk, but like 7 or 8) for decent prices? Oh and I want red and/or black in it! The reason I ask...for the wedding! I think we are going to get each guy in the wedding party matching ties, pretty cool, huh?!
Well it doesn't really bind...

I was just trying to come up with something clever to use as a title! :-)

I don't have much for you all except for the fact that the hours are starting to count down to when my Mister leaves for his jaunt out to LA. Yep, him and his band are heading out there to play a show...he's says he's going to make it big so I don't have to work anymore...I can't wait!

Hopefully I'll be jobless on Tuesday.

Don't hold your breath though. I mean they are good, but it's just not going to happen that fast.

So I'll be a lonely 'ole girl all weekend long, only I won't be lonely. Ava is going to be gracing me with her presence all weekend long. We are heading off to the zoo on Saturday, along with my (sweet 16...omg) step sister.

Sunday, well Sunday will be a bit more relaxed.

And then Monday, I get to go pick up the love of my life from the airport! Hallelujah!!! Praise the Lord!

Hopefully I'll have more to share tomorrow? Perhaps not though, as far as I know, there is nothing all too exciting going on in my neck of the woods (no, I don't live in or near woods!)!

I'm baaaack!!!

Did you miss me?

I feel like I've been being a good blogger lately and actually keeping up on posting and then I let you down with nothing for a couple of days! haha!

Well we had a fun weekend in Minnesota... More to come on that. We have PLENTY-O-PICS to share and post.

I'm now back at work...I was lucky enough to have yesterday off.

And believe me, it was well needed.

I had to get some things done though; I had a dentist appointment and an eye doctor appointment. I got myself some new specks. I like them, but won't get them for another week. I'll be sure to share when I do get them!

I'll post some pics later tonight...I've been lazy!

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Spring Cleaning

Mason and Campbell 'giving kisses' (it looks like Campbell wants to eat Mason!)

Today was a good day, a long day, but a good day. I woke up this morning at 6:20am. Yes, that's right folks, 6:20am...on my Saturday. I wanted to say good bye to my Mister, as I won't be seeing much of him this weekend (he's recording). Then, I had to head on over to my Dad's house to help out with some Spring Cleaning! Me, my brother, my uncle, his friend, my Dad and my Grams all pitched SO much garbage. I was going to take before and after pictures, but there was really no time. Well, I lie, I did mosey around a bit through out the day, BUT I also DID clean A LOT!!! So much so, that I am SO tired right now! My body is just exhausted! I guess that goes to show you how much I actually work out, huh?! It was a good time though and I feel like we really helped my Dad out by doing all of that with him. It feels like such a sigh of relief.

Since me and my brother were both 'home alone' for the night (Morgan, my SIL is out of town), we decided to have dinner. Me and Mason went over there for some good grillin'! He made onions and asparugus on the grill, along with corn on the cob, steak and chicken on the grill. It was just so yum-o!!! Now, me and the boy (Mason, that is) are home and just loungin' around. What a nice and relaxing weekend huh? Tomorrow I plan on making a German Apple Pancake for breakfast and I got one of those 'mini' chicken in a bag-already seasoned-toss in the oven deals and I'm going to make that for dinner. Yeah, I know, I'm spoiling myself! Ha!

HAPPY SATURDAY (oh no, tomorrow is ALREADY Sunday?!)

Dips, brownies and babies

Whew! It's only Saturday night and it's already been an eventful weekend! Last night, we had our usual PIZZA FRIDAY! Then we went grocery shopping for some of the fun stuff we were going to make this weekend. I did some cleaning and then made a homemade spinach and artichoke dip for today. Two of the girlfriends came over to just hang out and have an appetizer day. This morning, Ava (the little niecey) came over at eight o'clock in the mornin'. We made some brownies and then the girls came over. One of my friends has a little girl who is a little over 1 year old (she is SO darn cute!). We just hung out and it was really a great day! Now...I'm just blogging :-) and watching a Lifetime movie. The Mister had a show tonight. I was just so exhausted after today that I had no energy to socialize (ha!). I am getting good at remembering to take pictures. I have always wanted to have more pictures but never remembered to take any...so I'm trying to be aware!

Hope your weekend is great so far!

These are my ingredients for the SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE DIP. I don't like when recipes have too many ingredients (I don't know why, it's weird, I know, but it just bothers/annoys me :-). This recipe is really very simple. For the recipe click here.
This is the finished product. I forgot to take a picture of it while it was heated in the crockpot...mmm...SO deliscious! Seriously, it was even better than getting it at a restaurant, so fresh! We also had bread with spinach dip and a veggie tray and some brownies (can't forget the chocolate!).

As I had mentioned before, we made some brownies this morning. I, being the good aunt that I am, had to let Ava lick the beaters...

...and lick the bowl! We were all kids once and remember that being the BEST part! I still like doing it today!

This is the finished product. Aren't they so cute! I found these little heart shaped tins, so we decided to make individual brownies.

This picture didn't really turn out too well, which brings me to another subject...we need a new camera!
I think Mason was kind of bored today. I caught him not caring much here, just laying there, probably wishing that a) someone would just give him some scraps or b) he wishes everyone would leave so he could have some peace and quiet. Although, he was all tuckered out after they all left!

Oh and p.s. I did gather up the energy to go out and do some shopping tonight. When I got there, I asked myself what the heck I was doing?! The mall was SO crowded and it was just very unpleasant and stinky in there. Oh well, I got some cute shirts :-)

A few highlights from our weekend

1. This cute little lady spent the morning with us. She is so cute and LOVES glitter... She also LOVES make up now too...already?! She knows where her Auntie keeps her make up and always makes it a point to put some on each time, asking, "What's this for?" She even loves to stare at herself in the mirror after she puts on lip gloss! It's too cute! Of course, I have to let her...I am the Auntie and all!

After the aformentioned hang out with the little miss, me and my Mister ventured out to find our new tv. We only went to 2 stores and came home with this beaut! It's a 42" LCD HDTV flat screen tele! Then we had to come home and figure out how to arrange our livingroom. As much as the fireplace is AWESOME, it is just in the way. After an hour or two of tense-ness, we found a solution. We expanded our living room, by using our dining room. So now we have a bigger living room.
Sunday, as mentioned in the previous post was a wonderful day of R&R! Me and my future SIL went and had our manis, pedis, massages and facials. It was the BEST! My massage lady was AWESOME! The nail tech, on the other hand, was a different story. Very rude and butting her nose in on my life! Needless to say, she didn't get a great tip. Then I got to hang out with some of the best gals in the world, my friends. We had some fun and also some food. What a great way to cap off the weekend.
Hope your weekend was funfilled and relaxing!
