Fourth of July Haircut

Luckily, we are both off of work today...it's so nice! We've been running errands and getting some stuff done that we had to.

Mason got a haircut today and in honor of the 4th of July, he got a red and white starred hankerchief.

We gave him a little photoshoot when we got home from picking him up.

He looks so tiny now.

Home trimming

I 'attempted' to groom Mason at home today. Attempted being the word at hand. I put him in the bathtub because I know that, in there, he will be semi-still and not run away.

The bathtub has an effect on dogs...well on Mason at least.

We need to take him to the groomer, desperately. With how hot it's been here lately, the thick hair that he has just kills him. He goes on a short walk and he's panting forever.

I kind of like it though, because a short walk tuckers him out!

The cut worked out okay though. I trimmed his face and ears and cut his hair on the top part of his body a little bit shorter. His legs are so hairy though!

You can't see all too much from the pics, but he's cute so that's a bonus?!

Mason got a haircut

BEFORE (long hair...this pic doesn't do him justice...he looked like a hippy!)

AFTER (above and below)

He doesn't look too happy, huh?! Well, he got dropped off at the groomer's (Shear Paradise Pet Salon & Spa) yesterday morning. The gal had to basically grab him to make him go back because he was hiding behind his mommy's legs! He is such a momma's boy! But I LOVE that place because instead of keeping the dogs in cages before and after their haircuts, they just let them stay out on the floor and play with eachother. So it's like a doggy day care for the day too! He got to play with all of the other doggies. He, however, wasn't anymore tired or worn out at night...still wanted to play! He smells better than the dirty dog smell, but the baby powder smell that he has now...ughgh...it kind of makes me sick when I smell it too much! His daddy picked him up and he had a cute little bandana on him...I had to take it off...it was bothering me!
TGIF!!! IT'S THE WEEKEND!!!!

The little miss got a haircut

Today, Miss A came over for a visit. I have been meaning to trim her hair for so long, and well, it happened today. She agreed right away...which was amazingly odd! The best part...she let me straigten her hair! She looked too cute and WAY too old! She's going to be a heartbreaker when she gets older! To those of you who don't know, the little miss is my niece.

The haircut begins...

BEFORE (her naturally curly hair)
AFTER...isn't she beau-t-ful?! Do you notice that look of tears on her face... This little miss is an anal one. She worries normally about her 'flyaways' and always puts too much mousse in to 'tame' them. She was in tears before she saw herself in the mirror because she claimed that her hair was 'too frizzy'! Wow...at five she's already worrying about that, can you believe it?!
She quickly got over that though...she would NOT stop staring at herself in the mirror.

We decided to put it half up for her birthday party that she was going to. She got a 'pampering day' over at our house...I also painted her finger nails AND bought her a Disney Princess watch...she must have been in heaven!

Just a fun little pic...hanging out!

We had to get 'ole Mason in the picture with us.

Oh and we watched High School Musical Two again. And now I have that darn song stuck in my head! It won't go away! Too cute!

Chop chop!

So I am still trying to figure out how this whole things works...you know all the

technical stuff in this blog...like how to post pictures and move them around

so that they don't look completely ridiculous!!!

But in any case, back to the blog at hand...I cut my hair off!!!
I always do that...keep coming back to this one hair cut and then
telling myself I'm going to grow it out. This has been going on
since about 2001. Ahhh I can remember the day that I cut my
in this cute little bob for the first time. I think it was Valentine's
Day of that year. My good friend (and when I figure it out I will
link that work friend to her blog page) did it for me and has been

with me in this 'hair dilemma' ever since that day!

This has most definitely been the longest spell, if you will, of not cutting my hair, and what do you know, I have come back to it. You can say, I needed a change and was getting bored with my hair or you can call it a final spur of the moment decision. But I do like it...a lot!

I went back and for in my head for so long that I just wanted to make a decision. But everytime I decided YES I will do it and cut it...I would pass a mirror and happen to glance at myself in that mirror. Thoughts would race through my head like, 'Oh I love the lenth and I can curl it and on and on'. I guess it just had to be done. And after I did it...well let's just say that I still tried to make a reason to pass by that mirror and stare at myself in it...or my brand new hair cut at least! (I guess that kind of goes to show you what an ocd kind of personality I have!)

Oh and Mister R liked it too! I was glad at how many times he told me he did that very day!
P.S. Don't I look smarter in my glasses?!?
(I had a headache and thought I'd give them a try)
