Cleaning, pancakes and movies...oh and tornados!

Saturday was my cleaning day, as usual. R was working and I got the house all clean!

In case you didn't know...I'm a self confessed neat freak. So much so that sometimes I think I have a small ocd about it. Oh well, better clean that not, right?!

Not necessarily...sometimes I just can't relax until it's all done and I just despise that about myself!

After cleaning, I made a Dutch Apple Pancake for breakfast/lunch. Oh it is so good! If you haven't had one...you should try making it! They are just my favorite! You can go to THIS past post and get the recipe, if you'd like...mmm!

This is just right before it goes in the oven. Oh it's so good! I think I'll have some leftovers for breakfast this morning!

This is right after it comes out of the oven. Just look at the appley deliscousness!

Perfection!

I like to sprinkle on a little powdered sugar...for some reason syrup on apples just doesn't sound very good to me! :-)

After R got home from work, we went on a date :-). We went to the movies! And for your blogging pleasure, we took some pics in the car! ha! (I know, we're silly!)

Me...striking a pose...kind of! We went to see The Strangers and I just about wet my pants in that movie! I don't know about you, but scary movies scare me whether they are bad or super good! I had my ears plugged for about half of the movie. I also had my eyes closed for a good portion of it. My ears and fingers hurt from clenching. It was crazy! Pretty good movie though! I always get scared during scary movies. I think someone is going to come crawling through the dark aisles and kill us or hurt us! ha!

I went to bed last night and ended up having a horrible dream, of which I think stemmed from the beginning of the movie. I won't go into detail here...just in case you haven't seen it and don't want it ruined. I woke up with tears welled in my eyes. It was just a horrible dream and so real!
Once we got home and got dinner, there was a Tornado Warning...yes WARNING! There was one spotted in Mundelein and headed towards Libertyville and North Chicago. I was kind of freaked out, considering all the tornados that we've had in this country recently and all the damage that they have caused. Of course, we're on the third floor at the apartments too! It passed by, but we had more storms throughout the night. I was on the phone with my mom constantly making sure she was okay too! My dad and niece were at Chucky Cheese's and they made all the patrons get into a room and down on the floor! Crazy!

Apple Flapjacks and Bangs

Dutch Apple Pancake...you have to try it, it's sooo good!
Ingredients (or you can get the recipe here)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 medium cooking apples, peeled, thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup Original Bisquick® mix
2 eggs

Directions
1. Heat oven to 400°F. Generously grease 9-inch glass pie plate with shortening or cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Add apples; toss and set aside.
2. In 2-quart saucepan, heat water and butter to boiling; reduce heat to low. Add Bisquick mix; stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat; beat in eggs, one at a time. Continue beating until smooth.
3. Spread batter in bottom of pie plate. Arrange apples on top to within 1 inch of edge of pie plate.
4. Bake about 23 minutes or until puffed and edges are golden brown. Serve immediately.

Finished Product (this is MY picture...it's real!)

I like to sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar on top of it and that's it. Oh it is so good...and I feel like I'm eating healthily (probably not!) since there are apples in it!

On a side note...I GOT BANGS!!!

I LOVE them!!!

LET IT SNOW...LET IT SNOW...LET IT SNOW (but not too much, thank you!)
