Day 17 of 30: Just another manic Monday...

Aww, look at little Mason! He got a haircut on Saturday and he looks so tiny and scrawny right now! I feel kind of bad because it is getting so cold here now and he has no hair. Looks like that sweater will come in handy! His Daddy doesn't want to be caught dead walking him in it though...

Just a silly (and kind of yucky) picture of us hanging out... Can you tell I didn't shower all day on Sunday?! Shame on me... ha!

And I made my favorite Apple Pancake! Yum-O! Click HERE if you want the recipe! It is serioulsy SO good!

I don't use syrup on this kind of pancake. I just like to sprinkle a bit of powdered sugar on it. Oh it's wonderful! And Mason loves it too! :-)

That's about all for the day...
I know, so exciting, isn't it?!
Up tomorrow...
A sneak peak at the direction/hotel/map insert cards for our wedding invitations (that I spent all weekend tweaking and making!).

Weekend Round~Up

Oh what a wonderful weekend...

On Saturday I went over to Jen's house and got to hang out and do some hair. I got kind of 'stuck' on my way over because of a parade, but it was all good!

Jenny so graciously offered to play with my hair for our wedding and it turned out GREAT! I love it SO much!!! So...she offered to do it for the wedding! Thank you so much Jenny!!! You don't even know how much I appreciate it! I can mark the hair part off my list!

After that, me and Ryan picked up my mom and headed over to my cousin Cody's new place! It is so nice...we want to move there! We hung out with my dad and his roommates family. Kind of like a housewarming party!

I put this picture up for you Nonni and Zizi Nikki! Doesn't he look so cute in his little apron?! I just HAD to get a picture of it! :-)

Sunday was Bears day...what a game. Too bad they lost. :-(

Hope all your weekends were wonderful! Back to the daily grind tomorrow... One full week and a three day week and we're off to Myrtle Beach for Ryan's brothers wedding. We can't wait to go!!!

Bear down, Chicago Bears...

Yesterday...Sunday September 21st was

MY FIRST CHICAGO BEARS GAME!!!

Well it was my first real football game too! We had a great day. It stinks that they lost, but I had a fun experience! I thought it was going to be a little bit cooler, but au contraire, it was pretty stinkin' hot out. Not to mention we were in the endzone in the direct sunlight! By the time we left, my hair felt like I had taken a shower (um, yeah, it was full of sweat!). I did get some much needed sun, although my sunglasses did a great job of giving me a raccoon sunburn on my face. :-)

I decided to put up all the pictures that we had so here you go...

Sit back, relax and put your feet up! Oh and these are for you guys, Mike and Stacey so go on and save picture as!

The beginning of our journey

I love this picture!
This is from our seats, not too shabby, eh? Thanks Doug for the tickets!
Kind of dark...

Everything looks so different when you're watching it live and not on the tv. It's kind of hard to tell where the ball is.

My Mister :-)
Can you tell I'm extremely hot?!

Love my sunburn?!

Weekend round~up

I'd like to think we had a good weekend! We started it out right with our regular PIZZA FRIDAY. It was pretty rainy all weekend so I got to lounge around all day Saturday.

I worked on some wedding stuff on Saturday night while my Mister was at his show. I did some cute things! I don't really want to share on here though because I want it to be a surprise, kind of. I guess it really doesn't matter, but whatever.

During my 'crafting' I looked down and noticed my knuckle was blackish/greyish/bluish. I kind of freaked out, I was home alone! I called R and then my mom. It's still a shade of blueish/purple, but man it was weird! I still don't know what I did!

We went and hung out with Mike & Stacey (future bil/sil) on Sunday to watch the Bears. They lost, so that was a bummer. Mason got to see his girlfriend/cousin (ha!) so he was pretty happy. You wouldn't believe the things they do...

Meet Bella!!! We are going to have the same exact name in a little over four months! :-)

A cute shot of the lovebirds playing tonsil hockey! Mason slept like a baby when we got home, I love when that happens.

Weekend round~up

I have had a relaxing yet busy/tiring weekend. It was mostly Saturday, but it was really a great day. I ended up watching Ava for the day. I picked her up bright and early and we headed back to our place. Ryan had to work, so it was just the girls for the day.

It was Ava's birthday this past Thursday, she is a big 6 year old now! I can't believe how fast she is growing and how smart she is, her personality is just hilarious! Ava opened some presents from me and Uncle Ryan.

She got a cool High School Musical shirt (she is in love with all those things; HSM, Hannah Montana, Jonas Bros, Camp Rock, I could go on and on...) that Uncle Ryan picked out for her. It came with a cute little guitar radio with headphones.

...and she got a cute little sun dress (which I obviously picked out!).

...and she got a Disney Radio cd/dvd. My mom had gotten her a cd walkman (or isn't it discman? Technology schmecmology!) since she loves listening to music...you know it's cool to Ava, but it great to everyone else who doesn't always want to listen to Miley over and over again...everyone wins in this situation! Anyways, Ava was listening to it in the car and singing and, bless her heart, she was so funny! She has no tone, but it was so cute how she was singing along and then mumbling when she didn't necesarily know that words. Too cute!

After that we decided to make some different cupcakes that I had seen on Kelly's Korner. See the end of this post for the outcome/directions (they're good!). Of course, I had to let Ava lick the rest of the bowl, that was the best part when you were little, at least it was for muah.

Then we Ava went swimming for about an hour. It has been so nice this weekend and kind of chilly (well, compared to the last couple of weeks) so I wasn't planning on swimming, just dipping my legs in the water. We came back home, ate some lunch and then I decided to thuroughly clean the entire apartment. After that Ava, Mason and I met Stacey, Colin and Bella (the dog) at the dog park and went for a walk there. That was so much fun too! Ava found a caterpillar just towards the end and decided to take it him. She also named him Caddy... We then went over to my mom's and I did her hair. I was so tired by the time I got home, I decided to lay on the couch the rest of the night. R was gone and I just used the time to catch up on some unwatched shows and I also watched Definitely, Maybe. It was cute!
Mason was SO tired by the time we got home too! He slept all night and didn't even really make a peep!
AND NOW...Cookie Suprise Cupcakes!!!
You pretty much pick whichever kind of cake mix you'd like and make it according to the package.
Distribute your cake mix into the muffin pans so they are half full.
Stick chocolate chip cookie dough (or any kind for that matter) down in the center of the cupcake batter. I bought the premade squares of dough. Bake for 18-20 minutes (I had to do about 22 to make sure the cookie was at least near done).
And voila! This is what you have!

Frost the tops with your favorite icing! I decided to put my icing in a plastic bag and pipe it on. Ava and I tasted one and they are SO good, very chocolatey, but SO good!

I had a nice relaxing day today that included painting my nails and watching various Lifetime movies! It's been a great weekend, I'm so sad that it is almost over! :-(

I hope you all had a great weekend too!

I'm truly addicted {and other weekend jaunts}

On Saturday, I went scrapbooking for my very first time. I've actually dabbled in it a little bit before, but was never truly aware of the vast aray of materials available to use.

I must say, I am addicted!

I went with Lori (future sil) who is a scrapbooker herself. We had a really fun time. It was nice to spend some time with her and I got to learn how to do some different things. I just love it!

At first I was excited but a little worried. There are so many different options that I thought I wouldn't be able to decide on what to do or where to start exactly. Then it just kind of came to me. Not to mention, we were in a scrapbooking store working on our stuff, so the world was at our fingertips.

Here is some of what I did. I am so proud of myself for being so crafty! Who would have known?!

I love the cover!

This is my first page. I want to write some 'memories' likes dates and such or a quote on the little sticker on the right.
I love this page, its one of my favorites.

So cute too! I especially love the quotes.
Another one of my favorites.
Today, I got to sleep in a little bit and then my friend Jenny came over. She did my hair...thank you so much Jenny!!! Then we went to Zales so she could get her ring cleaned and inspected. I also tried on some wedding bands (we're going tomorrow to buy them...yay!). We had a nice lunch and went to David's Bridal so she could purchase her bridesmaid dress for our wedding. All in all, it's been a busy (but fun busy) weekend. It's not over yet! We have Monday off together and have a few plans in mind. Stuff to cross off the wedding to-do list!

Weekend Round Up

I'm gonna warn you right now...

This is a long one!

We had a nice long weekend. It was full of fun, summertime things. I don't know why, but it didn't feel quite like summer until this weekend. The 4th of July just brings back fun summertime memories.

Here are some fun things we did this weekend...

Taste of Chicago

On Friday, the 4th, we went down to the Taste of Chicago. It was so beautiful out, we had a perfect day! We went down with my future brother in laws and their significant others. We met their step sister and her husband down there and another friend and his girlfriend. We ate some yummy food, listened to some good music and had a couple drinks. It was a good day!

Ryan and I took the train down. It was a fun ride. There were mobs of people though. Looks like everyone decided to take public transportation...

Getting off of the train was a wreck! There were just mobs of people not moving. It was horrible. Once we got to the end, there were wide open spaces...come on people!?!

Sisters and a friend...

The three brothers
Barbeque Saturday
Saturday we went over to Ryan's moms and had a bbq. Again...some more yummy food (that's what the fourth is all about, right?!)!!!

Me and little C (isn't he so darn cute?!)

The three boys again...they just can't get enough of the camera?! ha!

R and Me (or I or whatever...)
Independance Day Parade
Today we went to the 4th of July parade with my mom. Ava (the niecey) was in the parade, riding her decorated bike with our church. She was so cute, but it was SO hot out in the sun. We were literally sitting there sweating bullets. It was fun...though I did get a little sunburnt.

Me mum, me and R

Ryan works with the guy towards the left (the one with the white hat). We took a couple of pictures of him, just in case he wants them. :-)

God Bless America

Look at all those horses, they must have been dying in the heat!

Mr. and Mrs. America?!

There's Ava and Grandpa...he kept going, she decided to stay with us and watch the parade!

Cutie!

There's the Pastor, riding in the parade for St. Andrews
We also got new bikes over the weekend. We have yet to ride them. We were going to go for a ride tonight, but after sitting outside all day at the parade (and doing nothing else, really) we are exhausted! I literally feel like I could fall over. I'll sleep good tonight!
I'm heading to bed soon...I get to work the early hours this week at work, woo hoo! It does stink a little bit that I have to wake up so early, at least I get off early!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
